On Presidents’ Day, February 19, Sisters Felicia Schlechter and Jean Mariani hosted a lively conversation with Wisconsin State Representative Chris Sinicki. Chris has represented areas in St. Francis, Cudahy, and Bay View for twenty-five years and is a long time friend to the Sisters. After Chris set context with an overview of the legislative process, Sisters asked about specific legislation underway regarding human trafficking, drivers’ licenses for DACA individuals, and housing for people in poverty and climate issues (especially regarding the Great Lakes). Sisters gained appreciation of the challenges and often years-long efforts to pass legislation that benefits the people of Wisconsin. We are grateful for Chris Sinicki’s persistence for the greater good and for her friendship.
