Special Needs and Campaigns
The Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi fully fund their own health and retirement needs. We receive some funding from the National Religious Retirement Organization and the Foundation for Religious Retirement. As our Sisters have aged, our need for special healthcare services, programming, and technology has increased. This is especially true for our Sisters with physical disabilities plus cognitive and other neurosensory disorders such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s Disease.
Sister living in Clare Circle enhanced care wing receiving neurosensory therapy.
Sisters attending one of many Justice and Peace presentations that keep them connected to current news and events.
Many services and items needed by our Sisters are not covered by Medicare. Below are a few items and services that your financial support helps fund.
- Innovative programming and services such as music and neurosensory therapy
- Wheelchair-accessible transportation
- Hoyer lifts and slings, Broda chairs, and Geri chairs for Sisters with severe mobility issues
- Updated amenities such as lift recliners and hearing- and vision-assistive devices
- Spiritual, outreach, and recreational activities to keep our Sisters connected physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
